Reading
World Book Day
As part of our drive to maintain, promote and engage pupil’s interest in reading, the school will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March. This year we are highlighting the theme You are a Reader. On this day your child can come to school dressed as any book character. Please ensure that your child is dressed in warm clothing that will be suitable for all day, including playtime. Children will still need a warm coat and school shoes for playtimes. Throughout the day children will be looking at a range of authors and will take part in various reading experiences throughout the day to encourage reading for pleasure.
Book Fair
We are excited to also be hosting the Scholastic book fair on Thursday 2nd March, Friday 3rd March and Monday 6th March 3.10 -3.40pm. There will be lots of great titles with 30% of the books being sold at less than £5. World Book Day £1 vouchers will be given to each child and they can be used on all books at the fair. The fair will be cashless and books will be purchased using a mobile phone by scanning the QR codes placed around the fair and paying by debit/credit card. Please find the Book Fair in the North Hall and you can enter this through the external door located near the bike pods.
Bedtime Bear
Each child in Foundation Stage - Year 3 will have an opportunity to take home their class bedtime bear! Enjoy a bedtime story, snuggled up with your class bear and a hot chocolate.
