PE and Sport at Abbot's Hall
At Abbot's Hall Primary School, our vision for Physical Education and Sport is that every child should have the opportunity to take part in physical activity on a regular basis and become more physically confident and competent. We hope that, through all the sporting opportunities and physical activity we offer, the children will develop an understanding of the importance of being active and the physical and emotional benefits that this brings. It is our aim to help develop a life long participation in physical activity and sport to enable our pupils to become the best that they can be.
Children at Abbot's Hall have two lessons a week of fun, exciting and active PE lessons. Alongside this, children participate in Active Abbot's Time every day. This is additional time given daily (30 minutes) to keep the children healthy and active. Classes perform the daily mile, have active brain breaks and perform meditation exercises such as yoga to refocus and recharge themselves.
PE and Sport are a proud part of the Abbot's Hall experience and we hope that this continues to grow in the future and prepare our children for a happy, healthy and active life after Abbot's Hall.
We are pleased to announce that in the last academic year we achieved the Gold School Games Award and in December 2021 we achieved Distinction in the Association for Physical Education Quality Mark.
